twelve.

i spent twelve hours today with the same people. twelve hours. the amazing part is that i enjoyed almost every minute of it. some of the minutes is didn't enjoy included the words, "i love rock and roll" and a playstation2. some of the minutes i enjoyed the most included laying on the lawn creating shapes from clouds, and laughing so hard i couldn't drive straight. i am grateful tonight because i realize that i have been given a very good life...and while i may know beyond doubt that this is only a season, i will choose to enjoy it rather than dread the inevitable. i love my friends. i actually delight in them. and i dread what it could mean if some were to leave...but again, back to the enjoying the now rather than the dreading the future. i am stable perhaps for the first time i can recall. there may be a few minor bumps in the road of life right now. but i am so supported...there are so many in my life that i am sure of...and that seems to smooth out every bump.

and so, to not just the ones that i spent twelve hours with today, but each one of you that knows me and loves me anyway, thank you. i am overwhelmed tonight by that grace.
