jeffrey.

if you read my blog on a regular basis, you probably know that i have two fish named jeffrey and prichard and that they bring me a lot of joy in my life. the first thing i do when i wake up in the morning is watch these two little fish...i'm always worried one will be floating because of something i did or did not do. this morning began like any morning, and i was pleased to see two happy little fish making circles around their rather large aquarium. i went downstairs to do some things and came back up an hour later to find one happy little fish making circles around the aquarium. the other was gone. he wasn't floating...he wasn't sunk...he's just gone. i took everything out of the aquarium. he wasn't hiding. i took apart the filtration system. he wasn't there. he's gone. and i am so very sad. i know it must seem a little funny, and i can appreciate the humor in it, but i actually really liked this stupid little fish and he made me smile a lot and now he's gone and i have no idea what happened to him. my roommates aren't home to be playing a cruel joke on me...i have no other pets to infer foul play...he's gone and i have no idea what kind of horrible death he must have incurred. the general concensus is that he has committed suicide and that i will find him eventually somewhere in the chaos of my room. i don't look forward to that at all. and yes, if you're wondering, i did cry about it when i realized that this probably could have been avoided with a simple investment of a few bucks for a stupid cover for my stupid aquarium. now i have guilt. goodbye, my little jeffrey. i hope i find you before you start to rot and make my room smell bad.
