He emptied Himself of His divine attributes to take on flesh and be that of a man so that death and sin would no longer be mine to fear.
i find myself honestly grateful today. to the core of me. the truth of the Weekend has punctured little places in my heart every year this time as i give an obedient reverence to the Man who i've been told gave His life for me. but somehow this year it seems to swell from my marrow. i am not obedient in my reverence as much as i am awestruck. i have knelt this Weekend, not because of tradition, but because He makes me a little weak in the knees sometimes. i have teared up so many times today, not because of the usual shame and regret that i put Him there, but this time because the gratitude that i am living this day in the life He provided with His own takes my breath away. i cannot believe His faithfulness.
looking back on this year...Easter sort of marks the end of an era and the beginning of this incredible walk He has taken me on... "See," He says, "I only wanted to pull you nearer."
thank You. thank You for this year. thank You for pulling me nearer even as i kicked and screamed and pounded my fists against Your chest. thank You for forgiving me every time i think i have You figured out. i'll probably do it all again the next time things get hard. i'm sorry for that in advance. but please don't stop. no matter how close i get to turning away, please Savior whose love i am only learning, please pull me near again.
Merry Christmas 2018
