i love this conversation.
i have no intention of not being a part of a church. my original blog you responded to was in fact my voicing of how deeply i miss what i had. and whether or not i agree with you that temple meetings and the church jesus was a part of looks like what you're making it look like is beside the point, so i'm not going to list my arguments there. instead, i want to put your fears to rest. i am a part of this broken body just as much as you. and i love this broken body. and i ache for it to be whole and healed. and i will, yes certainly, find a gathering that aches for it the way i do. i did once and it was amazing and life-changing and beautiful. and short-lived. but i will find it again, though my heart hurts and my eyes well up at the dread of the search...i will find it again. i'm sure of it. so rest easy, my friend tony. if you could put on magic glasses that showed you the innerworkings of my silly heart, you would know how deeply in love with Him i am these days. how my mind is on Him. how i long to know Him. you wouldn't be worried. in fact, you would be the least worried you ever should have been in our friendship. i'm going to find it again. i just don't know how. i don't know where. and i don't know when.
until then, let's keep having conversations like this to tide me over.
