experience.

today, as i got into my car, i found myself bored with the routine of it. my right foot informed me that it was also bored with the routine, resentful that everything relied on it, and bitter that left foot always got a free ride. i asked left foot how it felt about taking on a little more responsibility. it was eager at the chance. and so, for this first time in its little life, my left foot took over the gas and the brake while my right foot took a much needed vacation.

observations:
1 - when i drive with my right foot, i usually steer with my left hand. however, left-footed, i instinctively steer with my right hand.
2 - i look a little bit like a student driver. my left foot isn't familiar yet with how quickly the brake and gas pedals respond.
3 - it's a lot more entertaining than one might expect. i found myself giggling a lot during the process.
4 - my right foot really liked it a lot.
5 - this might not be the safest idea i've ever had.

I've done this a few times and it's pretty funny how uncoordinated it all is. I've decided that my urge to change-up the way I drive and how tiresome it becomes is to learn to ride a motorcycle. My mother does not like this idea so I'm assuming my step-mom isn't for it either, but what's your official position on it?

here's a little story for you, matthew. i turned sixteen and went to test for my permit, which i passed. that same day, my first day out, i watched a motorcycle accident take place right in front of me and i watched the motorcyclist die. it was for that reason that i did not drive or get my license until i was 18. true story. so, officially my dear matt, i'm afraid i am opposed.

dear loisa,
i have a solution for your right foot-left foot dilemma:
drive a stickshift.
